This August, when students return to Georgia's Norris Elementary School, they will find mounted projectors and interactive white boards in each of their classrooms, The McDuffie Progress reported. However, Norris is far from the only institution dedicated to creating a better learning environment for its students.
In Connecticut's Turn of River Middle School, math teacher Dave Edelson is also using a white board to further engage his students in the lessons at hand, according to the Stamford Advocate. In fact, this technology has been so effective, Edelson said he can’t imagine teaching without the white board.
During one class, Edelson fired up this piece of technology and handed each student a portable device that was connected to the board. They were asked to solve a specific word problem by entering the proper formula on their device so that their answers would all appear on the white board for everyone to see.
"I can see which students answered it correctly and how long it took, and it's hooked right into an Excel program, so I can give quizzes and shoot it right into here," Edelson told the news source.
